Bias, Illusion, and Play in Morocco!

Generative AI is reshaping how we think, teach, and learn—but not always in the ways we expect. In this session, we will explore the idea that AI functions as a cognitive illusion, generating outputs that appear intelligent while subtly reinforcing existing biases and patterns. Drawing from experimental research and creative examples, we’ll examine how AI systems both mirror societal inequities and captivate our cognition, convincing us their responses are more accurate or objective than they truly are. Most importantly, we’ll explore actionable strategies to help learners critically engage with AI, reframe their understanding, and use these tools thoughtfully and creatively.
